Day‑by‑Day Itinerary

Day 1: Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be welcomed by your LandAfrica representative and transferred to Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s famous safari destinations. Enjoy the scenic 45–60-minute drive before arriving at your lodge to relax, have dinner, and spend the night in Arusha.

Day 2: Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast and a safari briefing, depart from Arusha and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing through scenic highlands and local villages. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive and enjoy a packed lunch near the hippo pool.
Explore the crater floor, home to lions, elephants, buffalo, hyenas, zebras, wildebeest, and, with luck, the rare black rhino. Later, ascend to the crater rim and continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight with LandAfrica.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Central Serengeti
After breakfast in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, drive towards the Central Serengeti, passing through scenic landscapes and local areas as you enter the vast Serengeti plains. Along the way, enjoy opportunities to spot giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes, lions, and hyenas.
Enjoy a packed lunch en route before continuing into the Central Serengeti for an afternoon game drive. Later, arrive at camp for dinner and overnight, surrounded by the beauty of the African wilderness with LandAfrica.

Day 4: Central Serengeti to Mara river
After breakfast in the Central Serengeti, drive towards the Northern Serengeti, enjoying game viewing along the way with chances to spot lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and zebras.
Arrive near the Mara River and search for the spectacular Great Migration river crossings. With patience and careful positioning, watch wildebeest gather along the riverbanks before making their dramatic crossing. Later, continue to camp for dinner and overnight in the Northern Serengeti.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, spend the day exploring the Mara River region in Northern Serengeti, one of the most remarkable places to experience the Great Migration in Tanzania. With patience and careful positioning, your safari guide will search for opportunities to witness wildebeest herds gathering along the riverbanks, creating an unforgettable wildlife experience.
When a Mara River crossing begins, the scene can change in an instant as thousands of wildebeest and zebras make their way towards the water. Watch the dramatic crossing unfold, with Nile crocodiles waiting in the river and predators such as lions and hyenas often nearby. Enjoy a packed lunch in the wilderness before continuing your game drive throughout the afternoon.
As the afternoon light softens, the vast Serengeti plains take on a warm golden glow, creating beautiful opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. Later, return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay in the Northern Serengeti, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness with LandAfrica.

Day 6: Mara river to Arusha to Kilimanjaro International Airport
After breakfast, transfer to Kogatende Airstrip for your flight to Arusha, enjoying spectacular aerial views of the vast Serengeti plains, winding rivers, and surrounding landscapes.
Upon arrival at Arusha Airport, your LandAfrica driver will meet you and take you for lunch before transferring you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight home.
