Bee Tourism & Safari – 7 Days

Discover Tanzania’s beekeeping traditions, taste organic honey, and finish with a classic safari in Mikumi National Park.

Overview

This unique journey blends eco‑tourism, cultural immersion, and wildlife adventure. Begin in Arusha, where you’ll visit local apiaries and learn traditional African beekeeping methods. Participate in honey harvesting, beeswax craft workshops, and taste a variety of organic Tanzanian honeys. Along the way, you’ll meet rural communities whose livelihoods are sustained by bees, gaining insight into pollination, biodiversity, and conservation.

From the northern highlands, travel south through Dodoma and Morogoro, experiencing authentic Tanzanian culture and scenic landscapes. The adventure culminates in Mikumi National Park, where vast savannahs host elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and hippos. Here, you’ll enjoy classic game drives before continuing to Dar es Salaam or extending to Zanzibar’s beaches.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Arusha
Meet your guide and transfer to lodge. Evening briefing and honey‑infused welcome dinner.
Highlights: Warm hospitality, introduction to bee tourism.

Day 2: Arusha Bee Farm Experience
Visit local apiaries, learn traditional beekeeping methods, and join in honey harvesting. Educational session on pollination and biodiversity.
Highlights: Hands‑on honey collection, conservation insights.

Day 3: Community & Culture Day
Spend time with rural communities engaged in beekeeping. Participate in workshops on beeswax crafts, honey processing, and sustainable livelihoods. Highlights: Cultural immersion, artisan honey products.

Day 4: Arusha – Dodoma (Central Tanzania)
Drive south to Dodoma, Tanzania’s capital. City tour and evening honey tasting with local cooperatives.
Highlights: Central highlands scenery, authentic Tanzanian culture.

Day 5: Dodoma – Morogoro
Travel through rolling landscapes to Morogoro. Visit smallholder bee farms en route. Overnight in Morogoro.
Highlights: Scenic drive, rural bee farming practices.

Day 6: Morogoro – Mikumi National Park
Morning drive to Mikumi. Afternoon game drive in the park, home to elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and hippos. Overnight in safari lodge.
Highlights: Big game viewing, savannah landscapes.

Day 7: Mikumi – Dar es Salaam Final morning safari, then drive to Dar es Salaam for onward flights or Zanzibar beach extension.
Highlights: Farewell safari, smooth coastal connection.
