Day‑by‑Day Highlights

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel at around 8:00 AM and begin a scenic journey towards Lake Manyara National Park, traveling through the beautiful landscapes of Tanzania’s Great Rift Valley. Located approximately 120 km west of Arusha, Lake Manyara is a compact yet remarkably diverse safari destination.
The park is centered around its shallow alkaline lake, which expands and contracts with the changing seasons. The lake and surrounding wetlands attract large numbers of flamingos and a remarkable variety of birdlife, with more than 500 bird species recorded in the area.
During your game drive, explore Lake Manyara’s diverse habitats, including open grassy plains, groundwater forests, woodlands, and baobab-dotted landscapes. The park is home to elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, monkeys, and numerous other wildlife species. With some luck, you may also spot lions resting in the branches of the park’s famous tree-lined areas.

Day 2: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, depart Lake Manyara and begin your journey towards the legendary Serengeti National Park, one of Tanzania’s most celebrated safari destinations. The drive takes you through the spectacular landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you will have the opportunity to admire the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater from the scenic viewpoints along the way.
Continue towards the Serengeti, arriving around midday. As you enter the park, the landscape opens into vast golden plains, rolling savannah, woodland areas, seasonal wetlands, and scattered rocky kopjes. This diverse ecosystem supports an extraordinary variety of wildlife and is internationally renowned for the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Day 3: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park
Spend a full day exploring the vast plains of Serengeti National Park on exciting game drives. With its diverse habitats and abundant wildlife, the Serengeti offers exceptional opportunities to experience Tanzania’s iconic safari landscapes and observe animals in their natural environment.
As you explore the park, look out for large herds of wildebeest and zebras, as well as impalas, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, hippos, and crocodiles. The Serengeti is particularly famous for the Great Wildebeest Migration, when enormous herds move through the ecosystem in response to seasonal rainfall and the availability of fresh grazing.

Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
Begin your morning with an early game drive through Serengeti National Park, offering one last opportunity to encounter the park’s incredible wildlife in the cool hours of the day. After the game drive, return to your lodge for breakfast before continuing your journey towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Travel through the scenic landscapes of northern Tanzania to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO-recognized natural treasure and one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife destinations. The crater stretches across approximately 260 square kilometres and is surrounded by steep walls that rise dramatically from the crater floor.

Day 5: Transfer to Arusha
Start the day early with a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable morning game drive. As the crater comes to life, explore its diverse habitats and enjoy exceptional opportunities to see some of Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife in one of Africa’s most spectacular natural settings.
Continue your game drive across the crater floor before stopping for a scenic picnic lunch near the beautiful Hippo Pool. Surrounded by the dramatic crater walls and abundant wildlife, this is a memorable setting to enjoy lunch in the heart of the Ngorongoro ecosystem.
After lunch, enjoy a short final game drive before ascending the crater walls and leaving the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Continue by road towards Arusha, arriving at approximately 5:00 PM.
Depending on your travel arrangements, you will then be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight or to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight accommodation.
